GRIFFITH NOTES: "The Aussie Ruler" July 6, 1975 - No. 12

By Swan:  None issued in The Aussie Ruler No. 12

Coolamon notes (By Grasshopper): Trevor Miller's Swans picked, punished and publicised the Hoppers at Kindra Park last Sunday, showing a great desire to get the ball.

They had winning players in many positions and led from go to whoo, Lance Crocker, John McKenzie, John Chamberlain, Rob Garrett played well, but it was no avail, it was a day out for the Swans.

The Coolamon reserves, strengthened by John Kew, "Pussy" Hilton, "Strop" McKenzie had an unexpected victory, and are now only out of the four on percentage. Griffith had lost only one game prior to Sunday.

Winner of the blankets was Miss Anne Maloney of Griffith, while the double went to ex-player and life time supporter Ted Smith.

At the half way mark of the season it could be considered a bad year for injuries, no club has escaped, and broken bones, are common. The lack of rain to soften the playing area is no doubt, one of the reasons.

The thanks of the Rovers and Committee of the "Blue" Patterson Appeal are extended to the Riverina Australia Football Club for allowing the Rovers to run a raffle at the Club on 21st June. It netted $270 for the appeal.
