Match report - Swans on Screen: Griffith pushed the redoubtable Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong team exceptionally hard for half a game on Saturday, the result being a meritorious 108 to 40 victories for the Lions. The home side were without star ruckman Nathan Richards, whose absence was greatly felt. From the first to last quarter the locals fought bravely, and in the opinion of many played the better football in the first half than their opponents. From the first bounce, and red and whites kicking with a slight breeze, it was evident that it was to be a willing game. At half time interval it proved such and left the home team 3 points to the good.

The play requires very little description in the second half, as Griffith were completely outclassed in all departments of the game.

The ball rarely got past halfway, while the Lions outscored their opponents, 71 points to nil. The GGGM boys, who have not been defeated so far this season, must be congratulated for the determination and team football they displayed throughout such a clean contested game. On the losing side, Ollie Bartter and Heath Northey played exceptionally well and it would be hard to choose between them for first place. Tommy Tyson had a nice open game and put his heart into it. Lachlan Wallace justified his inclusion in the team - he played a good solid game, while Kieran Ruyg showed considerable improvement, and it is evident that both these players profited by last fortnight Leeton-Whitton game notes.
