A summary of match report, with thanks
The Griffith Swans have fallen to their second defeat in as many matches after a 16-point defeat at the hands of top of the table rivals Wagga Tigers on Saturday afternoon. The Swans had the better of the play in the first quarter with goals to Lucas Conlan, Mick Duncan and Isaiah Potts seeing the Swans head into the first quarter break with a 14-point advantage. The home side were then able to hold the Tigers goal-less in the second term while goals to Blake Argus and a second to Duncan just before halftime saw the Griffith side up by 24 points. The Swans kicked the first goal of the second half through Kahlan Spencer, but the game swung from that point with the Wagga side kicked seven unanswered goals before the third quarter siren to lead by 13 points. Neither side was able to make a real impact on the scoreboard in the final term as the Tigers came away with an 8.16 (64) to 6.12 (48) victory. (The Area News – Monday June 24, 2019).
